SASI/RASE - Substance Abuse Services, Inc (SASI) is an independent, non-profit 501(c3) incorporated in 2000. In 2001, SASI created the RASE Project. RASE stands for Recovery, Advocacy, Service, and Empowerment. The RASE Project was designed to provide a voice and body for the anonymous recovering population. Our mission is to assist all those individuals affected by substance use issues, problems, and concerns by fostering progress, enriching lives, and ultimately enhancing the recovery process. RASE provides advocacy for persons being discriminated against due to the disease of addiction.  The RASE Project began its services by providing grassroots organizing and built a strong regional body of dedicated advocates committed to speaking out for the rights of the Recovery Community.  Subsequently, RASE started working with three other regional advocacy agencies across the state of Pennsylvania and with PRO-A (Pennsylvania Recovery Organizations Alliance) to network and provide united- statewide services for the Recovering Community.  In addition to the advocacy services, RASE began holding quarterly events to provide positive social outlets for persons in recovery and to give back to the community in positive ways. RASE also holds numerous social events like dances and seminars throughout the year. In August 2002, The RASE Project opened the RASE House, a therapeutic Recovery House for women in early recovery. http://www.raseproject.org
