A Master窶冱 Degree or above from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field which includes a practicum in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. If the practicum did not take place in a drug and alcohol setting, the individual窶冱 written training plan shall specifically address a plan to achieve counseling competency in chemical dependency issues.

A Bachelor窶冱 Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and 1 year of clinical experience (a minimum of 1,820 hours) in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. If a person窶冱 experience did not take place in a drug and alcohol setting, the individual窶冱 written training plan shall specifically address a plan to achieve counseling competency in chemical dependency issues.

An Associate Degree from an accredited college with a major in chemical dependency, psychology, social work, counseling, nursing (with a clinical specialty in the human services) or other related field and 2 years of clinical experience (a minimum of 3,640 hours) in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. If a person窶冱 experience was not in a drug and alcohol setting, the individual窶冱 written training plan shall specifically address a plan to achieve counseling competency in chemical dependency issues.

Current licensure in this Commonwealth as a registered nurse and a degree from an accredited school of nursing and 1 year of counseling experience (a minimum of 1,820 hours) in a health or human service agency, preferably in a drug and alcohol setting. If a person窶冱 experience was not in a drug and alcohol setting, the individual窶冱 written training plan shall specifically address a plan to achieve counseling competency in chemical dependency issues.

Full certification as an addictions counselor by a statewide certification body which is a member of a National certification body or certification by another state government窶冱 substance abuse counseling certification board.

Description:ツSanctuary Recovery Center is new inpatient residential drug and alcohol treatment facility and is currently seeking applicants who possess a degree in the drug and alcohol or related field and/or have current CADC to fill clinical positions. Candidate should possess knowledge of various treatment modalities such as SMART Recovery, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Holistic approaches. Ideal candidates will hold themselves high ethical regard and have appropriate boundaries, demonstrate openness to alternative methods of treating addiction, maintain a positive attitude, have professionalism, and display fidelity for their position.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Responsible for carrying out all applicable documentation and charting requirements.
  • Demonstrates competency in facilitating group, individual, and family therapy.
  • Demonstrates competency in facilitating groups that are based in CBT,
  • Motivational Interviewing, and Holistic Thearpy
  • Demonstrates ability to develop individual treatment plans based on SMART Recovery
  • Coordinates treatment planning process through the multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrates competency in coordinating/facilitating back to work conferences and collaboration with legal system.
  • Coordinates case management responsibilities with outside agencies and coordinate discharge planning.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and an ability to work within team structure.
  • Fulfills individualized training needs developed on a yearly basis.
  • Participates in department staff meetings, inservice training and master treatment plan meetings.
  • Provides coverage for counselors as needed.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize an 8:1 client/counselor ratio
  • All other duties requested by the Clinical Supervisor with his/her experience and training.
