Certified Recovery Specialists (CRS): To provide Drug & Alcohol Recovery Support Services (DARSS)

In September 2008 the PA Recovery Organizations Alliance and the PA Certification Board announced the availability of the new Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) credential. The two year effort, to develop a unique and distinct certification, recognized the efforts and work done by recovering individuals in the community.

The CRS credential identifies three domains or core areas of competence. Within each domain are task, knowledge and skill statements that further define the role of the Certified Recovery Specialist. The three domains are:

  • Recovery Management
  • Education and Advocacy
  • Professional Ethics and Responsibilityツ(within the last 2 years)

Individuals must also complete 6 hours,ツwithin the last 2 years, of confidentiality training.
